Some find Christ fills them with love and kindness
Others give expression to prayer
Others are inspired to sing, paint and dance
Others find meaning in their life work
Others are led to serve others
Others lead unassuming lives but lives that are inspiring to those around them
Others are comforted during times of sadness and loss
Others become ministers
Others are inspired to teach
Others build united families and communities
Everyone’s life can be influenced

Confirmation is a time to develop a deeper relationship with Jesus. There are multiple ways to make that happen. Through our ability to learn and serve, we will grow in our beliefs and faith! Join us on Wednesday evening beginning at 5:30 where we will be moving through steps of faith which will allow us to create our own meaningful experience in Confirmation.

Throughout the 2008-2009 year on Wednesday nights we will be studying the Ten Commandments and the Apostles Creed. We will actively experience together the understanding of the different commandments and articles and how they impact us still today on our faith journey. We live out our faith during the Confirmation journey by helping and living in community with others who need our help and support.

We also will have opportunities to grow in our faith with others in activities like mission trips, grade level retreats and large group time on Wednesday nights. We will meet in small groups with mentors building and strengthening Christian fellowship while discussing topics that will make us think and discover who we are as Christians. We even celebrate our own God given talents by helping out during church services and teaching or helping during Sunday School. The possibilities are endless!

Confirmation Covenant
Personal commitments are required for all sport and educational activities to be successful and or meaningful. Confirmation is no different.

What is different from these activities and a “Confirmation Commitment” is that in Confirmation you are asked to reflect upon your personal commitment to Christ through the covenant requirements. It is Confirmation’s purpose to be a guiding force as you think about and explore that personal relationship with Christ.

A personal commitment to Christ is really a relationship which is first expressed at your birth then again strengthened at your baptism. During Confirmation it becomes a time to come to understand this relationship more deeply.

Asking Christ to come into your heart is a big step toward opening yourself to this relationship. The relationship is there; ready when we need it, ready when we accept it.

Confirmation strengthens and builds your relationship with Jesus by exposing you to Christian fellowship and recreation with peers and adults, by learning about the Bible, by serving others and by attending and leading worship. Making this personal commitment to Christ along with the help and guidance of a personal covenant will result in a purposeful and meaningful confirmation experience. The personal relationship we have with Christ then has many different expressions and is never the same for everyone.
