Let the little children come to me and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.” ~Jesus

In Baptism, God claims us as His very own. With water and the Word we are declared forgiven children of God. The journey that begins in Baptism is built upon the promise of God’s unfailing love through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

It is our desire at Trinity Lutheran to be partners with parents in ministry. We provide a variety of programs that help parents teach their children about the Bible, the love of God, and life long discipleship.

Baptism
Baptisms at Trinity are held the 3rd Sunday of each month. Only three Baptisms are held at each worship service. Baptism class is held either before or after worship service on the Sunday of the Baptism. Sponsors (Godparents) and Grandparents are encouraged to attend the class. After completing the form, please return it to the church office. Baptisms will be scheduled as they come in. The church office will confirm your date and service time. Please review the Baptism brochure to understand what it means to have your child Baptized.

First Communion Classes
At Trinity children usually partake in the Sacrament of Holy Communion during their fifth grade year. In order to prepare for First Communion children and their parents attend three classes that will help everyone learn more about the Body and Blood of Christ. First Communion will be during the Maundy Thursday Service  at 7:00pm. If your child is not in fifth grade, but you feel they are ready for their First Communion please feel free to register them. To register for First communion Classes you may call the church office at 651.674.7047.

Summer in the Son - Vacation Bible School
Summer in the Son is Trinity's version of Vacation Bible School. It is an opportunity for both elementary, junior high and high school youth to come together, learn about Jesus and have lots of fun! Five Wednesday mornings junior high and high school youth work with adults to teach elementary youth about God's love through: Bible Stories, games, music, crafts, and snacks. Then in the afternoon the junior high and high school youth eat lunch and head off to various hot spots to enjoy the summer weather and spending time together.

Registrations are out!! They can be found on the information table in the Narthex, the main church office, Tashina's office and on the links below

The summer of 2012 we will "Kick it Old School" with the GoFish Guys. Your kids will travel through the Old Testament as well as the New Testament to learn about several attributes of God. From Adam and Eve to the Passover to the building of the tabernacle to Jesus on the cross, your kids will learn that God's holiness and views of sin have never changed. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. It's time to "Kick It Old School"!

Community Cares
Community Cares collects items for families in the North Branch area that are currently struggling and need a little extra help. While there are various food services available, there are very limited services for personal hygiene or home care. So while any items are appreciated (see the list below) we are going to highlight a few much needed items each week and ask your child to participate by bringing an item with them. Even partially used items are acceptable, within reason of course. For example, the partially used soap or shampoo that you don’t like the smell of could be brought instead of the whole bottle. Items can be placed in the Community Cares Bin in the narthex:

Desired items include:

  • Paper Products - Toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, paper plates or facial tissues

  • Soaps - Hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry soap, body wash

  • Cleaning Supplies - Multi-purpose sprays, dusting, toilet cleaner, counter/surface, floors, sponges, etc.

  • Personal Hygiene - Shampoo/conditioner, shaving materials, diapers/wipes, deodorant, lotions, dental care.

Are you traveling? Consider donating the hotel goodies that are offered where you stay!
